Seishindo Embodied Presence Workshop
"Calm and Confident in times of stress"
with Charlie Badenhop and Marleen Adriaensen
Belgium, 20-21 March 2009

Stress-management for coaches, consultants, and leaders

Stress is everywhere these days. You can feel it, hear it, and see it. In such uncertain times, what will your choice of action be? Wait around until “the economy” gets better? Or will you consider taking action for yourself, and explore ways to further develop your calm and con? dence, your creativity and professional skills?

Stress may be one of the greatest challenges of our time, but if you coach or lead others, stress is also one of the greatest opportunities you’ll ever be o? ered. You have the chance to make a real di? erence in your clients’ lives.

Remaining calm and confident in times of stress

Instead of attempting to fight against the ravages of stress, you can learn how to link the intelligence of your rational mind with the wisdom of your body and discover you have all the resources you need to manage your own stress, and encourage others to do the same.

This workshop is experiential, practical, and immediately applicable.

What you will learn draws upon the perspectives, practices, and disciplines of both Western and Eastern models of health and well-being. Aikido, NLP, Ericksonian Hypnosis, the Japanese healing art of Sei Tai, and Yoga.

In this workshop we weave together theory, poetry, music, practical applications and fun. You’ll learn how to think with your body and your heart, as well as with your intellect.

Somatic Intelligence

"Where do you live? When I ask this question, almost everyone describes their home or their local area.... To me, that's not where you live; where you live is in your body. How you live there, how comfortable you are in living at home, will teach me a powerful message about you." (quote from 'Life’s a pitch' by G. Haslam).

The way you use your body, breathe, and move, has a major impact on how you feel and react to challenges. Understanding the subtle yet powerful communication of body language, allows you to stress less and relax more! The key is to link the intelligence of your rational mind with the wisdom of your body.

Step One: Uncover the behaviours, thought patterns, and body language that lead to stress and reactivity, and those that lead to inner calm and confidence.

Step Two: Engage in mind-body practices to better manage your emotional tone and sense of health and well-being.

Step Three: Clarify how you can take responsibility for creating an embodied presence that engenders greater calm, con? dence, and creativity in times of uncertainty and stress. Achieve a sense of well-being in both your personal and professional life.

For you?

  • This workshop offers a set of practical tools for coaches, consultants and leaders:
  • Manage your health, awareness, self confidence, and well-being.
  • Help teach your clients do the same.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in, and know that you are free to work at your own pace and rhythm. This course is not physically demanding.
  • The workshop is in English (with translation when necessary). The exercises and practices in smaller groups you will do in your own language.

"I have attended a Seishindo workshop last October in Antwerp and not only did I totally enjoy myself, meet new people and make new friends, but I really learnt a huge amount of new 'stuff' about me and my body. As a professional breathwork facilitator I am still using techniques and exploring ideas that were demonstrated in such a wonderful way. It is rare that I have the opportunity to take part in a workshop of such high calibre. Charlie's method of teaching is very experiential, engaging and enthusiastic. It is a true testament to the heart and soul that he brings to his work and his very fortunate clients. If you are up for an active weekend where you can rally learn how to start transforming your life I recommend that you consider booking yourself into this workshop."
Geoffrey Smith, BreathWork Facilitator, La Hulpe, Belgium

"The workshop gave me insight into how I function and how I can improve the quality of my life by going to my centre. I learned how important breathing is and how to find my strength and balance again.
Charlie Badenhop is an inspiring and very competent person.
It is six weeks since I attended his workshop. I do some Seishindo exercises regularly, and I feel more powerful since then. I still experience the workshop every day!"
Rob Driessen, HR Manager, Antwerpen, Belgium

"A good self-understanding is very important today during the tremendous changes currently ongoing in our working and social life. Attending the Seishindo workshop gave me a unique opportunity to learn mind-body connections in ways that were entertaining, energising and unforgettable. The workshop helped me to go through important changes with a larger degree of confidence and with an increased feeling of joy." Ulf Sundberg, Business Executive
